Have been pondering about the rules and regs for FA Cup medals and whether Garcia will get one if we win so am cheered by an article I've just read about Hayden Mullins. Apparently the winners get 25 medals so that sounds like enough for one for Luis (and Mullins if the Hammers win). Mullins also said about getting fitted for a suit anyway and being on the pitch beforehand, so there's hope that Garcia will also (unless he's still sulking).

No more news as far as I can see about Xabi's injury. Yesterday's report was promising though so fingers crossed. So hope he plays, am convinced that he's due a goal and how wonderful would it be for him to score on Saturday! Mind you, I'm not overly optimistic about us winning this one. I was certain as soon as the draw was made that we would beat Chelsea but have a funny feeling that this might be West Ham's Cup. Especially with John Lyall's death. A bit like us last year after Emlyn Hughes died. I hope I'm wrong of course.

This Cup Final ticket fiasco is worrying. It's ridiculous that the Mil Stadium aren't prepared to make an exception for this and produce duplicates. How hard can it be? I know there would be problems ensuring that no one with a stolen ticket would get in and could lead to public order issues and overcrowding. It also makes sense to try and teach the scum who stole them/touts/toutees a lesson (although it will never work). But one suspects they would do more if it was corporate tickets that went astray and once again the regular fan gets treated like shit.

Just read on the .tv forums that Stevie's Alex has just given birth to another little lass for them both. Rumours are she'll be called Lexie (short for Alexandra after mum I suppose?). The sun came out here just after noon so maybe she was born around then. Lovely news.

ETA - just read that the name comes from the last bits of both their names ie Alex and Stevie (like I have to spell it out, sorry!). How cute is that?!

Following Garcia's reported signing session in the City Centre Waterstones earlier this week I got a quiver of excitement on discovering a sizeable but not too huge queue outside the Southport branch earlier. Alas it wasn't little Lu but some 'psychic' bloke off the telly. Ah well, the heaven's opened not long after that so I would have caught pneumonia if it had been him, being dressed rather flimsily (although I did have on my favourite LFC t-shirt that, in the two seconds I thought it might be him, I thought I could get signed). I don't think I would know what to do if I did ever meet any of them actually.

Just heard that Robbie will sign a new one-year deal next week. Very good to hear, well done Robbie lad. I was never his biggest fan first time round but he's matured a lot since then and he's been great this time. Fully deserved.

Thought it was about time I started using this blog. Odd time to start with the season almost over but I can spend the summer dreaming probably impossible dreams of next season, and enjoying all the loveliness on offer in Germany.
